As many of you know, we recently lost a shining young star, Cody Clemente, the son of our dear friend Lori Clemente, who serves as the co-director of the North Tahoe Series.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible support that Lori, has provided to our Series, she has been a guide for
me as well as many of our local athletes. Her dedication and kindness have made a significant impact on our entire Ski & Ride community. As friends, I have witnessed her unwavering commitment, and during this challenging time, I hope our South Tahoe Series Family can come together to support Lori and her family in any way we can. They truly deserve our love and assistance as they navigate this immense loss.
Thank you for your support as we remember Cody and celebrate his legacy.

We wish to share more details about Cody’s passing, which truly reflect his character. On Saturday, August 16th, around 3 AM, Cody received a call from a friend in need of a ride home after others were unavailable. True to his caring nature, Cody immediately went to help. Tragically, an accident occurred on the way home, likely due to him falling asleep at the wheel. Importantly, there were no drugs or alcohol involved, and it was simply a tragic event with no one to blame. We find comfort in knowing that he was helping someone in need at the time.
A memorial for Cody is planned for winter. In the meantime, we’re establishing a Memorial Fund in his name, supported by friends, to honor the love we’ve received. This fund will assist local athletes, providing them with opportunities similar to those Cody had—encouraging passion, dreams, and community connections that shaped him.
